A bit of a basic.

The problem with any transition of seasons, especially if you live in London, is that there is a certain amount of time when it is too hot for coats on public transport but too cold for little t-shirts and shorts. This problem can most often be rectified by layering, and the stalwart of any layering trick is a good set of jersey/cotton modal/linen basics. The best thing about a good quality basic is that it will hang nicely, add the right amount of nonchalant ease to your outfit and still be subtle enough to be worn in sixty different ways.

For the recent warmer weather I've been playing around cute jersey brights from H&M, crisp white from Zara, slightly sheer black from Cos and lusting after the ultimate 'basic with sex appeal' - Acne tanks and t-shirts in super soft linen and slightly loose cut.

Find yours - it will help your wardrobe through a whole trans-season of pain!
