Those who know me know I have slight (read: extreme) OCD tendencies when it comes to organisation. I can't keep emails, even in the trash folder, constantly archive letters, clothes, anything left 'un-organised' and rearrange the kitchen cupboards when I'm stressed or frustrated. The cupboards have been taking a bashing recently, and I have extreme Kitchen Envy after visiting my parents' shiny new version. Kitchen 2.0 has lovely French Grey units, an expense of oak flooring and every gadget under the sun. It also has a very cool (in my opinion) pantry cupboard, full of space for almost all foodie stuff in the house. Fashionable Mother has taken this one step further and bought an array of Kilner jars to store pasta etc. I like this idea. It speaks to my inner-tidy freak and makes everything look linear and neat. I hate packets of Stuff. I like rows of glass jars. I can't quite afford pointless storage jars for everything at the moment, but in my dream kitchen it would be a toss up between the classic Kilner jar and the funky Alessi version. Or maybe I'll push the proverbial boat out and have a mix of both. Steady now.
